As a trauma survivor there was a time when I thought I couldn’t go on anymore. Like many of you I have dealt with brokenness, heart ache, feeling unworthy, unloved and unwanted. God will not put you in situations you can not recover from. There will be a day when you will be restored. Resiliency means learning to lean into your feelings and then handling things accordingly while caring for your mind, body and soul. ⁣

I love the topic of Emotional Intelligence. How many of us have worked for horrible bosses?
I believe leaders are born. Why? Mainly because in my opinion EI is a necessary trait for a good leader. Are you the type of leader who cares for the ones you lead?
We all know people in positions of authority will end up getting the respect that comes with the position, but the best type of respect is the kind you earn.
Learn about your people. Find ways to help them during challenges and give them the proper credit when you know the reason why you are successful is because of something they did! ⁣

Forgiveness is something I struggled with for years. As a trauma survivor, I held onto years of anger. As someone who was bullied, I dealt with hurt. As a daughter of an alcoholic, I resented for years.
Forgiveness equals freedom for our own lives. We have a loving God who ensured we are given grace, compassion and forgiveness for our own mistakes. The more we apply this same grace toward others something wonderful happens to us inside. We are able to truly move forward and step into our best lives!
What do you continue to hold onto? Know that forgiveness is truly about you. It's ok to let go of all the bitterness so you can live more freely! 💕 ⁣

Many of us struggle with whether or not we are good enough. The things that keep us on the struggle bus are:
1. Comparison
2. Not acknowledging you can’t be good at everything
3. Focusing on the things you can’t change
4. Negative thinking

Staying grounded in faith isn't easy at times, but God is with you!

When I reconnected with my faith I recognized God restored me and he never left my side through my darkest moments. Overcoming trauma multiple times didn't happen by chance. His strong hand was on me the whole time.
There will be good days, bad days and days where you feel like the world is caving in on you, but remember he gets us through it! .

We are here by design. As someone who has gone through trauma multiple times in my life resiliency is needed and we are equipped for it. Don't doubt your ability to overcome. What are some ways to come out on the better side of things? - Stay grounded in faith. I started this off with one of my favorite scripture verses because time has revealed how true this verse is. God will get you out! - Take things one day at a time. Grieve, get angry, feel disappointed but know that you can and will move forward! - You dont have to do things alone. There are plenty of resources available. Talk to someone about your deepest struggles because it can really help. - Time will be your best friend. Life won't be picture perfect in a day, but you will look back years later and will be a better, stronger version of you! .

Do you agree that there are life seasons?
What season do you find yourself in?
We sometimes may tend to think you have to be defined by certain niches and find ourselves struggling with identity in general. At 40, I am definitely a late bloomer. Identity, sense of belonging, confidence, and figuring out my talents and abilities, were all things I struggled with.
Are you struggling and find yourself in a rut? Do you think you have to be doing something specific? Maybe you're transitioning to a different season. I use climate seasons as a way to explain life seasons.
Summer - This is a time where you are grinding and youre not going to stop until you get there! Maybe youre putting in extra work for that promotion, educational goal, entrepreneurial goal, self development, or fitness goal. Youre laser focused and your life doesn't know any type of balance because you have a clear goal you need to accomplish!
Fall - Time where you want to start throttling back because you want to shift your focus to more of a balance with relationships. Maybe you want more time with family, your significant other or even trying to date again! You want to sit back and soak in the moments that matter! It's time to travel more and not be on a diet! This is the time to slow down a little, embrace a bit more balance and allow your mind and body to recover!
Winter - You may be coming off of a high from accomplishing all the things you set out to do! The weather isnt inviting to do much else. Where there's a high a low normally follows. You struggle with now what? You only want to chill in your sweatpants, eat snacks and binge on Netflix because you just don't know what else you want to do. You realize solitude for a bit may not be horrible. You lean into a slower pace and take some much needed time for yourself. It's ok to not actively be working toward something for a bit.
Spring - You feel rested! Solitude was much needed because you got some clarity from it. It's time to change direction based on new passions! You realize you have evolved!

One of the biggest joy thief is comparison. Like many of you I lived in a comparison trap daily. When we become consumed with comparing ourselves to others we stop focusing on our own unique gifts and talents and we miss out on living up to our full potential.
Comparison has resulted in me feeling - Depressed
- Stressed - Angry - Jealous - Inadequate - Unattractive
Breaking the negative pattern of comparison has resulted in me feeling
- Worthy
- Talented - Accepted
- Grounded - Confident
- Happy - Blessed - Beautiful

You just have to flip that little switch inside you. Social media can make things difficult, but know you were uniquely made and have your own gifts and abilities. When you stop obsessing with what you don't have you can focus on what you do have and be able to succeed in the way you were meant to! 💕 .

The biggest thing holding you back are your habits

The biggest thing holding you back are your habits. Who can identify with me when I too struggle with some of my habits? Habits are the foundation to your success. Whether your goal is fitness, spiritual, financial, personal or career focused, youre going to need the right habits to propel you forward. Here are some tips to get you going! 💕

1. Start with one thing you want to change or start doing! We all know it takes several weeks to establish a new habit or break one so why overwhelm yourself with trying to change everything at once? Start with something doable and build from there. Its common for us to want so much more for ourselves! For example if your goal is to loose 10 pounds, read more, earn more money etc. Start with something simple like drinking more water and getting more steps in a day and build from there. As you establish better habits to facilitate your goals you will be motivated to take on more.

2. Have patience! Rome wasn't built in a day. To establish lifetime habit changes youre going to have to give things time and grace along the way.
3. Focus on your victories. Some days celebrating your wins will get you to the next day and the next. Eventually things add up over time!
4. Find ways to hold yourself accountable. Share your goals with loved ones, friends or a coach.
5. Don't rely on motivation. Some days we are all motivated, but it doesn't last. Discipline is what will get you to where you want to be! .
